Udine calling
Members of our project team recently met with the Consorzio Produttori Pietra Piasentina S.r.l. in Udine, an association of several small quarries in the region. The natural stone Pietra Piasentina, a grey-brown limestome is processed there into different materials: plates, pillars etc.
By visiting a quarry site and the production we were able to trace the processes from the raw material to the finished product. We also had the chance to present the L.B.I. (Long-term Biodiversity Index) to the companies to win partners for the project.
Our partners in this Interreg project are the Università degli Studi di Udine, the Università degli Studi di Padova, Confartigianato Vicenza and the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences. The project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Interreg V-A Italien-Österreich 2014-2020.
