For the 2008 wasser.leben regional exhibition, the Millstatt ravine is being transformed into a “sound ravine”. Various pieces of “Klangmöbel” [“music furniture”] and an accessible waterfall will turn the ravine into a huge musical instrument. But the water installations will also have a theme – they are witness to our attempts to protect ourselves from the torrent, to control it and also to use it. E.C.O. has brought together artists, architects, designers and graphic artists to develop the concept for the musical staging, the visitor guide, the “Klang.Schlucht.Buch” [music.ravine.book], sound transmission to the monastery courtyard and accompanying events.
