Within the framework of the GEO Days of Nature and together with Ökoteam Graz, we will assume technical supervision of three further field research events in the Kärntner Nockberge Biosphere Reserve between 2021 and 2023 – with the aim of exploring the area's biodiversity piece by piece. After the Zunderwand in 2021, we will turn our focus to the wetland habitats surrounding St. Lorenzen ob Reichenau to have them examined by plant, fungus, lichen and zoological experts in 2022. Some 60 to 80 enthusiastic researchers take part in this event every year. All animal and plant species found within 24 hours are documented and the results are published in a technical article. The annual event focuses on species-rich areas that need to be researched in the long term. The general public has the opportunity to look over the shoulders of the researchers as they work.
