Gesäuse National Park Education and Experience Strategy
The Gesäuse National Park is an especially valuable home for many threatened plant and animal species, and offers a varied and high quality selection of educational programmes. The visitor guidance system ensures that the pollution of nature is kept to the minimum possible. This visitor and education management system, which has been developed over the years, needed to be systematically further developed with a long-term focus.
E.C.O. was commissioned to prepare a strategy within a participative process, as a long-term guideline for implementation measures. The objective was to obtain a clear picture of which educational and experience-based offers and infrastructures need to be implemented over the next ten years. The goals, key aspects and methods for the education and experience strategy were developed during the course of three specially designed workshops with the participation of different interest groups.
