Peatland Conservation and Visitor Management

At Egelsee near Spittal an der Drau, new measures have been implemented to protect the sensitive peatland habitat and improve visitor management. Existing structures and informal paths were removed, new boardwalks were built, and a new arrival and information area was created outside the peatland.

E.C.O., together with Urban&Glatz, provided technical and ecological support and coordinated the project implementation. We also developed the editorial content and graphic design for the information panels. The project was led by the City of Spittal an der Drau, while the construction works were carried out by Holzbau Moser.
