16 Natura 2000 Management Plans in Upper Austria

Kick-off for the Development of Natura 2000 Management Plans

In Linz the starting signal was given for the development of 16 Natura 2000 management plans in Upper Austria. Under the leadership of E.C.O. (Susanne Glatz-Jorde & Tobias Köstl) we are working on this important project together with our partners KFFÖ, ezb TB Zauner, Ökoteam and the Nature Conservation Department of the Province of Upper Austria.

Natura 2000 management plans define conservation objectives for the protected habitats and species within the designated sites, as well as specific conservation and development measures. Some of these plans are being drawn up for the first time, while others are revisions of existing management plans for individual sites. This project is an important step in the protection of valuable species and habitats. Natura 2000, the cornerstone of European nature conservation policy, provides the basis for a sustainable coexistence between man and nature.
