Hello Bavaria!
Karwendel Alpine Park looking across the border.
High above the clouds, in the village of Mittenwald in the mountains of the Karwendel, the “Hallo Bayern!” event was held on 19 May. The Karwendel Alpine Park had invited representatives of associations, unions, administration and politics from Tyrol and Bavaria to a meeting held at the mountain station of the historic Alpine cable car. Sigrun Lange (E.C.O. Germany) had prepared the event with interviews and Michael Jungmeier acted as a facilitator. The “summit” meeting reconfirmed the stakeholders in their strive for even closer cooperation.
The background of the invitation was the 80th anniversary of the Karwendel Nature Reserve. The “Alpenpark Karwendel” association founded in 2008 provided major impetus for the development of the area and is particularly keen to cooperate with the Karwendel communities on the Bavarian side. E.C.O. supports this process for the future development of the area.
