Guests from Turkmenistan
Aschgabat – Klagenfurt
Jamal, Jahan and Viktoriya visited E.C.O. and worked with us in our office in June. The three young women from Turkmenistan were mainly interested in the planning and the integrated management of protected areas. At E.C.O. they gained an insight into tools, experiences and best practices. The visiting programme is the practical part of a training course the three are currently taking at the Greifswald University at the German Baltic Sea.
Our guests also had the opportunity to attend one module of the “Management of Protected Areas” Masters course and the “Klagenfurt Days of Protected Areas”. Together with guests from Armenia, Tanzania and Uganda, they spent an “international afternoon” at E.C.O. on the invitation of Kalemani Jo Mulongoy of the Biodiversity Convention in Montreal.
Jamal, Jahan and Viktoriya thanked their hosts for the hospitality with a gift of traditional hand-stitched slippers and also presented an information evening about their home country.
