Iso-Natura: Quality Assurance in Nature Conservation Iso-Natura: Quality Assurance in Nature Conservation
Nature conservation involves complex regulatory and subject-matter related processes. Zoning, impact assessment, environmental compatibility studies and ecological building inspection touch on many different regulatory contexts and frequently occur in areas that fall into the traditional fields of conflicting interests. On the initiative of the Austrian Association of Environmental and Nature Conservation Organisations (Umweltdachverband), the quality of the processes currently employed in the nature conservation field will now, for the first time, be discussed. E.C.O. is to establish the current status of quality assurance in nature conservation through a series of qualitative interviews. The intention is that this should make it possible to establish a basis for determining best practice and driving forward improvements in regulatory performance.
