Year 2007

The Hohe Tauern National Park sees research as a central task. Based on the 1995 research concept, more than 150 projects with some spectacular results were realised. This concept is now being revised. The focus of research and the research organisation until 2020 are to be set. In doing so, global developments as well as the regional need for research and need for research regarding knowledge of the area are referred to. The technical and organisational framework of research has to be drawn up anew beyond the borders of the three provinces, Carinthia, Salzburg and Tyrol. The concept is worked out jointly with the appropriate persons in charge of the national park as well as by involving national and international experts.
