Site surveying is a crucial component of the management, planning and surveying practice. The DIGSTER – Map and Go project (DIGital Satellite based TERrain Mapping) forms the basis for a new form of site survey designed to bring the user time and cost savings. The land-based data platform is linked to technologies in the fields of satellite navigation, mobile geo-information systems, remote sensing and telecommunications. The whole site surveying process is then fully digitalised, from the data collection process to the finished map products.
