The HABITALP research project, a project in the context of the INTERREG III B Alpine Space Programme, brought together partners from five nations (A, CH, D, F, I), who communicated with each other in four languages. In terms of content, HABITALP focused on the diversity of habitats in the Alpine arc, with a special focus on the protected areas in the Alps. The aim of the project was the development of standardised methods of recording, analysing and evaluating natural habitats and landscapes, as well as those which have been influenced by human use, on the basis of CIR (colour infrared) aerial photography. In this way an approach adapted to the Alpine region in respect of long-term observation and the management of protected areas was to be enabled. E.C.O. took on the evaluation of this complex project, developed perspectives for possible continuation and developed the design for the distribution of the final results. The distribution materials, an English language flyer and a 24-page brochure (in three versions: German/English, French/English, Italian/English) together with the final report were created under the auspices of E.C.O.
