EuroMAB Conference 2022. Challenges for biosphere reserves

The EuroMAB Conference 2022 took place under the motto "Tying cultures. Cross-border cooperation between societies and generations" and was held in Bad Kleinkirchheim in the Salzburg Lungau and Carinthian Nockberge Biosphere Reserve. From 12-16 September, various representatives from Europe, North America and Canada came together to network and discuss future challenges for biosphere reserves. The programme included several workshops and plenary sessions where participants discussed how to improve cooperation and communication between biosphere reserves, different stakeholders and institutions. E.C.O. supported and accompanied the event both in the moderation and in the design and implementation of the youth programme with its professional competence. The aim of the youth programme was to discuss the challenges and future visions of the biosphere reserves and to look for creative solutions to master them in the future. In interactive workshops, the participants developed concrete project ideas for implementation in their own biosphere reserves and presented them to all conference participants at the end of the event.
