Management plan for the Salzburger Lungau & Kärntner Nockberge Biosphere Reserve (Salzburg part)

The Salzburg part of the Salzburger Lungau & Kärntner Nockberge Biosphere Reserve wants to define guidelines for its orientation until 2030. As required by UNESCO, these guidelines shall be part of a holistic management plan.

We support the Biosphere Reserve as consultants and accompany the team until the completion of the management plan, which will point the way for the next ten years. In doing so, we focus on the participatory development of goals and concrete measures in the 5 pillars of the Biosphere Reserve: Nature and Space, Economy/Agriculture & Tourism, Education and Research, Energy & Mobility and Culture and Social Affairs.

The management plan shall serve as a guideline for an integrative and holistic development of the biosphere region, following the UNESCO biosphere parks.

The plan will be completed in 2021 and adopted by the reserve’s steering committee.
