Analysis of organizational structures of Protected Areas along the Danube

On its way to the Black Sea the Danube flows through eight countries. Donau. Along the stream, there is a large number of protected areas. The initiative DANUBEPARKS tries to intensify and coordinate the co-operation of these parks. In the course of this process, the team of E.C.O. realizes an analysis of the organizational structures, tasks and basic conditions of all managed protected areas from Germany to the Danube Delta in Romania. Together with representatives of all protected areas, E.C.O. explores joint features, possible points of contact and links for future cooperation by means of a questionnaire, interviews and workshops. Dr. Alina Ionita, a graduate from the MSc. Programme “Management of Protected Areas” from Romania, supports the team of E.C.O. to realize this project.
