The Carinthian biotope cadastre is aimed at being an essential element for a foresighted spatial development and sector planning. Already in 2007, E.C.O., in cooperation with the competent experts of the Carinthian Provincial Government, started to redesign the 15 year old concept. Now the new concept has been realised in a technical guideline where particularly a complete biotope type catalogue, an identification key, a form and the mapping instructions are essential. The guideline is aimed at constituting the basis for updating the biotope cadastre in the next years.
