Moderation of Participation Processes in the Wienerwald Biosphere Reserve

The objectives and measures to be implemented in the context of management of the core areas in the Wienerwald Biosphere Reserve are being formulated as part of a rural development project. The involvement of affected interest groups such as landowners, nature conservation and research institutions, hunting representatives and tourism organisations in the development and management processes is a basic principle of the biosphere reserve concept. E.C.O. has taken over the role of moderating the process of participation in the management of the Biosphere Reserve’s core areas. The aim is to form the broadest possible consensus regarding the objectives to be achieved and to properly coordinate their implementation with existing projects and stakeholders.
